We sat on the stepped terrace by the canal with a flight of four. Best afternoon of our trip.

The Manke Monnik is dangerous in the best way. Bitterballen on the side, and staff who took the time to talk us through the beers.

Booked the Bierhal for our team of 30. Tasting first, dinner after, nobody wanted to leave.

Five things people ask before they come

Do I need to reserve, or can I walk in?

You can walk in. For dinner and at the weekend, reserving is safer. Up to 10 guests reserve online; 11 or more? Then we plan it together: see private events.

Are you open on Sunday, and when does the kitchen close?

Yes. We are open every day, Sunday included, from 12:00 to 00:00. Kitchen times are on the menu page.

Can two people do a tasting or see the brewery?

Yes. The tasting flight at the bar, four beers for €12,90, is for any party size and needs no booking. The brewery stands beside the bar, so you see the kettles from your table. Guided tastings with the brewery story have tickets from one person when they run; see tastings.

Is there step-free access?

Not fully. The bar is three steps down from the street, and the Balkon upstairs is reached by stairs. Mention it when you reserve, so we can seat you on the ground floor.

Do you serve food all day?

Yes. Lunch dishes, steaks from the grill, burgers, Flammkuchen and bar snacks like bitterballen are served through the day. See the menu for the kitchen's hours.
